Photo exhibition: Did you say water?

Tuesday 5, Wednesday 6, Thursday 7 June, displayed at the Lyon 2 University

This exhibition gathers a selection of photographs received during the 2016 photo contest organised by the nature observation centre of Île du Beurre. Open to all, young and old, amateur and professional, this contest, sponsored by the photographer Rémi Masson, aimed to highlight the natural heritage and landscapes to arouse wonder, curiosity and respect.

Guided tour of the Confluence district

We offer you a guided tour of the Confluence area prior to the gala dinner.

The 150-hectare Lyon Confluence area is situated between the Rhône and the Saône. This fast-growing district combines modernity and sustainable development. A guided walk of this new urban area will allow you to discover its issues, structure and the Docks of Lyon, Parc of Saône, nautical base and river stop.

Meeting point at 19:00 on Wednesday 6 June, in front of the Auvergne Rhône-Alps Region headquarters, 1 Esplanade François Mitterrand, 69002 Lyon.

H2O’Lyon kickoff meeting - Graduate school of Integrated Watershed Sciences (SiWaS)

Thursday 7 June, 15:00-18:00 - At the Musée des Confluences - In French only

H2O’Lyon aims to construct an internationally recognized School of Integrated Watershed Sciences. The school will deploy and promote a resolutely interdisciplinary approach incorporating Social Sciences and Humanities, Physical Sciences and Engineering, and Life Sciences to better understand challenging issues in river basin functioning and provide knowledge to improve their management. The H2O’Lyon community brings together researchers and teaching staff from 10 higher education establishments and 3 research centers. Together, they will meet these challenges to build the knowledge and train the professionals of the future.

The kickoff meeting will take place on Thursday 7 June from 15:00 to 18:00 at the Confluence Museum.

Shortcourse 'River Restoration: Fluvial-Geomorphic and Ecological Tools' - Institut Beaumont


The river restoration shortcourse is being integrated into a new graduate program at University of Lyon, which involves some administrative restructuring.  Due to these issues, the course is postponed to 2019.  Further details to be posted on the Institut Beaumont website this summer.
