Chairmen of the IS.Rivers 2012 scientific committee

IS.Rivers originated from the collective desire of the ZABR, GRAIE, and Rhone stakeholders to exchange, promote and help develop practices in favor of the sustainable development of rivers. 

We were pleased to organize the first edition of the IS.Rivers international conference, conceived by this pluralist network, and that provided an arena for dialogue between water and territory stakeholders and scientists, offering them the opportunity to discuss their research, practices, and approach to river management on an international scale. 

For this first edition, the aim was to consider all facets of rivers in order to enhance together our understanding of the links between Rivers and Urban Societies – Rivers and Ecology – The Functioning and management of rivers. 

It was the opportunity to encourage the transfer of knowledge, methods and practices among stakeholders and find solutions for the sustainable development of the world’s rivers.

The entire organization team and partners of IS.Rivers hope that these proceedings will become a useful tool and information source for your daily work towards the sustainable development of rivers.
